Das wahre Vodacce für € 3,50

John Wick ist einer der Hauptautoren von „Siebte See“ und „Legend of the Five Rings“. Während das System in den USA schon seit einigen Jahren tot ist, hat er sich seinen Design-Notizen zugewandt und einen ersten Entwurf von dem Intrigen-Land Vodacce wiederbelebt. „Houses of the Blooded“ ist sein neues Rollenspiel und wird nun nicht von einem großen Verlag verlegt, sondern in Eigenregie.

In das über 400 Seiten starke Werk ist sehr viel Herzblut geflossen und es geht vor allem um einen Hauptsaspekt: höfische Intrige. Allerdings spielt man keine Menschen, sondern durch starke Sitten und Gebräuche gebundene außerirdische Adlige. „Your character lives in a world that looks like a bastard child of Tanith Lee and Niccolò Machiavelli.“ Es geht um Politik, Leidenschaft und Familie. Wick beschreibt es auch als seinen persönlichen Gegenentwurf zu Dungeons&Dragons.

Ich hatte noch keine Zeit es komplett zu lesen (bisher kommt mein Eindruck nur von einem kleinen Preview vor etwa drei Monaten, und das war sehr vielversprechend). Der Grund, warum ich jetzt schon mein Blog bemühe ist etwas Werbung, denn zur Zeit bekommt das komplette Werk als PDF für gerade einmal $ 5,00 (waren gerade einmal € 3,50 via Paypal). Also für ein Zehntel des komplett gedruckten Werkes!

Der Grund für das aktuelle Schnäppchen laut Wick: „Because I want you playing my game!“ Und momentan weigert er sich zu sagen, wann dieses Angebot endet …
